First time here after a year of my parents telling me how amazing the food is. Sadly, they were mistaken...cause the food is extraordinary! Country cooking at its finest, but somehow not loaded down with tons of grease or salt. Exceptionally clean dining area and very friendly staff. Good prices and nice portions. Certainly a hidden gem tucked away! Can't wait to come here again!

This was my second time here. Any local will tell you that this is the spot for a home cooked meal and brag about how wonderful the food is, but both of my meals that I had were mediocre at best. I had hoped that it was just my misfortune the first visit since I didn't get any advise about what was good on the menu. This time around I'd been assured that people come just to get the baked steak special, so I thought that sounds good and armed with a recommendation I would get that scrumptious food everyone talked about. Well, the baked steak was dry (even covered in a light gravy). As I cut pieces of it with my fork, it felt as if it was breaking off in chunks which didn't bode well for my meal. The baked steak was not very tasty and I again regretted my decision to return to this out of the way restaurant. Even the mashed potatoes appeared to be the instant variety (tho and soupy) and not hand made, which is what I had imagined. I made the mistake of getting a side salad again. That was the one thing I had remembered from my first visit. The salad bowl was again pulled from the fridge having been prepared earlier in the day. They didn't have bleu cheese dressing and the small cup of salad dressing provided was not enough for the small salad. I opted for iced tea since they charge $2 for a 12 oz can of soda. I received a large roll that looked like the ones I remembered from grade school, but this one was just a bit dry enough that I didn't care for it. I really hoped that my first visit was a fluke and that this second chance would redeem Millie's. A handful of local folk having dinner, but not super busy for a Thursday evening between 5-6pm. I did not try the home made pies. I've been assured these are fantastic but I again decided that perhaps I was already losing with the $12 investment in another dinner that I couldn't recommend.

Specials - love this place and several kinds of pies and deserts. Just a really nice home town place to get good food. Nice for the gang to just sit and talk.
